Ck Naidu Ja was born on 31 October 1895 in Nagpur, Maharashtra (India). His full name was Kottari Kanakaiah Naidu. His father's name was Kothari Surya Prakash Rao Naidu.

CK Naidu died on 14 November 1967 at the age of 72 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh.

Naidu was inducted into the school team at the age of seven, and he entered the Bombay Triangular in 1916 in the first division. For Hindus against Europeans, he came to bat at No.9. Played 79 runs for number 7 with his team in 79. He blocked six of his different decades. He made his final appearance in the Ranji Trophy in 1956–57. Aged 62, he scored 52 runs in his last innings for Uttar Pradesh. Earlier in the season, he had scored 84 runs against Rajasthan, hitting two sixes. An innings of 84 runs set Naidu as the oldest player to score his age or more in a first-class cricket match. His last outing was in a charity match in 1963–64, when he played for the Governor of Maharashtra against the Chief Minister of Maharashtra's XI. He played a total of 07 Test matches in his Test career scoring just 350 runs at an average of 25.00, scoring 2 fifties. He also took 09 wickets while bowling. Ck Naidu also holds the record for the most sixes (by a foreign player) in England in a single season. He hit 32 sixes in England in the year 1932. Ck Naidu was the first captain of the Indian cricket team's Test match. He started his international cricket career on 25 June 1932 in a Test cricket match against the England cricket team.

Naidu was voted "Cricketer of the Year" by Wisden in 1933. Ck Naidu was the first cricketer from India to be honored by the government by giving him "Padma Bhushan" (1956). Which is India's third major national award.
