Najma Heptulla was born on 13 April 1940 in Bhopal Madhya Pradesh. His full name is Najma Akbar Ali Heptulla. His father's name was Sayyid Yusuf bin Ali Alhashmi and mother's name was Sayyda Fatima Yusuf Ali.
