Nargis Dutt was a famous Indian Hindi film actress and the wife of Sunil Dutt, a famous actor of Indian films. He was born on 01 June 1929 in Kolkata, West Bengal. Nargis was married to actor Sunil Dutt on 11 March 1958. He gave many hits in his film career and received many national awards.

Nargis Dutt was born on 01 June 1929 in Kolkata, West Bengal. His birth name was Fatima Rashid but later he changed his name to Nargis Dutt. His father's name was Uttamchand Moolchand and his mother's name was Jaddanbai. His mother was a Hindustani classical music singer and Nargis also had a half-brother named Anwar Hussain and also a film actor.
Nargis Dutt died on 3 May 1981 (age 51 years) in Bombay, Maharashtra, India due to pancreatic cancer. Nargis fell ill on 2 August 1980, during a session of the Rajya Sabha, the initial cause of which was thought to be jaundice. He was then admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Bombay. She remained in the hospital for fifteen days, but her condition worsened day by day and she gained weight rapidly, then in 1980, pancreatic cancer was diagnosed and treated at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. But on 2 May 1981 Nargis went into a coma, and she became seriously ill and died.

Nargis started her film journey in the year 1935 with the film "Bachpan Khola-e-Haq". At the age of fourteen, she had her first audition as Motilal's heroine in director Mehboob Khan's film "Taqdeer". Nargis was commonly known as Lady in White, as she wore predominantly white saris. Fatima made her film debut in the film Talshe Haq in 1935 when she was six years old, credited to Baby Nargis. Nargis is a Persian word meaning Narcisse, daffodil flower.
