Pushpala Das was a north-eastern Indian state of Assam, an Indian independence activist, social worker, Gandhian and legislator. He served as the President of the Kasturba Gandhi National Memorial Trust and the Assam Chapter of the Khadi and Village Industrial Commission.

Pushpalata Das was born on 27 March 1915 in North Lakhimpur, Assam (India). His parents' names were Swarnalata and Rameshwar Saikia. He married Omeo Kumar Das in the year 1942.
Pushpalata Das died on 9 November 2003 (age 88) due to age-related ailments in Kolkata, West Bengal, India and had to be taken to the Woodlands Nursing Home in Kolkata after which he died.
Pushpa Lata Das was educated at Panbazar Girls High School. He graduated from Andhra University. He was expelled from school. He continued his studies as a private student and passed the matriculation examination in 1934, after which he enrolled in the Banaras Hindu University to complete his intermediate course. Later, he graduated from Andhra University and received a master's degree in 1938 from the same university. Subsequently, he enrolled himself to study law at Earl Law College, Guwahati, where he continued his student politics.
She started her political activities from school days and was the secretary of an institution called Mukti Sangh. In 1931, he and his comrades organized a protest against the hanging of revolutionary Bhagat Singh by the British Raj and also expelled him from school. She was the secretary of the College Union in 1940. In the meantime, Gandhi called for a personal satyagraha as a part of the Civil Disobedience Movement and as a pioneer of the Quit India Movement, which was launched some time later and Das participated in the movement. She was disorganized which effectively cut off her study of law. She was a member of the Assam Legislative Assembly and a member of the Working Committee of the Indian National Congress, from 1951 to 1971.
The Government of India honored him with the Tamrapatra Freedom Fighter Award, but he declined, saying that he participated in the Indian freedom struggle without expecting a return. In 1999, the government awarded him the Padma Bhushan's third highest civilian honor.
