Shirin Ebadi is an Iranian lawyer, a former judge and human rights activist and founder of the Human Rights Center defenders in Iran. He was admitted to the Law Department of Tehran University in the year 1965. He was awarded the Nobel Prize for Peace in 2003. She was the first Muslim woman to win the Nobel Prize. In 1975, she became the first woman president of the Tehran city court. She was also the first woman judge in Iran.

Shirin Ebadi was born on 21 June 1947 in Hamadan, Iran. His father's name was Mohammad Ali Ebadi and mother's name was Meenu Yamini. His father Mohammad Ali Abadi was a commercial law professor. He also had a sister named Nausheen.

Shireen Ebadi's career began in March 1969 when she officially became a judge. As of 2004, Abadi was also practicing law in Tehran University, practicing law in Iran.
