Amrit Bharat Station Scheme 2023
The Prime Minister launched 508 railway stations in the country under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. Through the scheme, more than 1000 important and minor railway stations of the country will be modernised. Apart from this, the Khurda railway station of Orissa has also been developed through this scheme, the total budget of Amrit Bharat station scheme is Rs 24 thousand, 700 crores. Under this scheme, about 1300 stations in the country will be developed under multi-modal hubs. Under the first phase of the scheme, 508 railway stations in 27 states and union territories of the country will be modernised.
In the first phase of Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, 15 railway stations of Haryana will be redeveloped. These stations include Ambala City, Bhiwani Junction, Faridabad, Pataudi Road, Hisar, Bahadurgarh, Jind Junction, Narwana Junction, Narnaul, Kalka, Rewari, Rohtak, Sirsa, Sonipat and Yamunanagar-Jagadhri stations.
Benefits and Features of Amrit Bharat Station Scheme 2023
- High level platforms (760-840 m) will be provided at all categories of stations.
The approach roads to the station will be improved to ensure smooth access by widening roads, removal of unwanted structures, properly designed signage, dedicated pedestrian paths, well-planned parking areas, better lighting etc. - Facilities for Divyangjan at stations will be as per the guidelines issued by Railway Board from time to time
- Through this scheme, all 15 stations out of 68 divisions will be renovated, due to the renovation of the stations, the citizens will get the benefit of the facilities of the stations and their experience will also be good.
- Apart from this, the citizens will get information about the art and culture of that city from the station at which they stay.
- Along with this, widening of railway station road, making pedestrian way, providing parking facility and good arrangement of lighting will also be done through Amrit Bharat Station Scheme 2023.
