2023 Korea Open

The 2023 Korea Open was the fifth Super 500 tournament of the 2023 BWF World Tour that took place from 18 to 23 July 2023 at Jinnam Stadium in Yeosu, South Korea. The tournament was organized by the Badminton Korea Association with the approval of the BWF. The total prize money of the tournament was $420,000.

The Indian pair of Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy won the men's doubles Korea Open Super 500 badminton title after defeating the Indonesian number one pair 17-21, 21-13, 21-14 in the final. With this, the pair of Satwik-Chirag has become the first Indian pair to win the Super-1000 Championship. The Indian pair, the Birmingham Commonwealth Games winners and Asian champions, took 43 minutes to win the hard-fought match. Satwik-Chirag became the first Indian pair to win the Super-750 French Open title last year.

Information About Korea Open

The Korea Open is an annual badminton tournament usually held in Seoul, South Korea. The tournament was known as the Korea Open Super Series since it became one of the BWF Super Series tournaments starting in 2007. The BWF classified the Korea Open as one of seven BWF World Tour Super 500 events in the BWF event structure from 2018. The tournament has been held since 1991, although the 1998 tournament was canceled due to the country's poor economic condition.
