PM Modi gifted schemes worth Rs 75 thousand crore to Maharashtra on 11 December 2022. PM Modi inaugurated the Prosperity Highway in Nagara. When the 701 km-long Nagpur-Mumbai Highway becomes operational, it will reduce the current travel time of 16 hours between capital Mumbai and the sub-capital city Nagpur to just 7 hours.
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday (December 11, 2022) inaugurated the first phase of the 520-km Emigrant Highway connecting Nagpur and Shirdi. This Nagpur-Mumbai Super Communication Expressway project is a major step towards realizing the Prime Minister's vision of better services and schemes across the country. The cost of this 701 km long expressway is being kept at around Rs 55,000 crore.
- It is one of the longest expressways in India, numbering 10 in Maharashtra and passing through the major cities of Amravati, and Nashik. Will help improve 14 other things around the expressway. Thus helping in the development of literacy in about 24 districts of the state including the regions of Vidarbha, Marathwada and North Maharashtra.
- Supporting the Prime Minister's vision of integrated planning and planning of infrastructure schemes under PM Gati Shakti, Samruddhi Mahamarg will connect Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust and tourist destinations like Ajanta Ellora Levon, Shirdi, Verul, Lonar etc. . The dominance of Samridhi Mahamarg will prove to be a game-changer in rapidly promoting economic development.
- The Prime Minister also flagged off the two inaugural Metro trains from Khapri to Automotive Square and Prajapati Nagar to Lokmanya Nagar on 11 December 2022. The first phase of Nagpur Metro has been developed at a cost of over Rs 8650 crore while the second phase will be developed at a cost of over Rs 6700 crore.
