Three Day International Conference 2023
Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh inaugurated the three day International Conference on Defense Finance and Economics in New Delhi. The conference will bring together eminent policy makers, scholars and government officials from home and abroad to share views and experiences on defense finance. The conference was attended by delegates from the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, Australia, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Kenya.
Objective of the three day conference
The objective of the conference is to promote dialogue and cooperation among various participants and contribute to the defense preparedness of the country with optimum financial resources and effective implementation of the defense budget.
The conference also seeks to collaborate with foreign governments, international institutions and global leaders in the field of defense finance and economics to support the ongoing government's efforts towards indigenization and self-reliance in the defense sector and drive transformational reforms.
Main issues of the three-day conference:-
- The objective of this conference is to promote the efforts of the government for indigenization and self-reliance in the defense sector.
- In this Defense Department talk, questions were asked and explained about the allocation and utilization of defense resources in an efficient and effective manner to address global challenges.
- In addition, the discussion addressed best practices on the management of human resources, including issues relating to pay, pension and welfare of defense personnel, and the role and functions of oversight mechanisms within the defense ecosystem.
- In this conference, the participants deliberated on the latest developments and innovations in defense research and development along with various models and practices of finance and economics related to defense acquisitions across the world.
