Independence Day Amrit
On the occasion of 75 years of independence, there was a campaign to celebrate the glorious history of Indian culture and achievements. Under which different activities and programs were organized to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sri Aurobindo.

Life introduction

Sri Aurobindo was born in Calcutta on August 15, 1872, he was a visionary. He made a non-contributing contribution to India's freedom struggle. But later he became a yogi, after that he established an ashram in Puducherry and wrote many commentaries on the Vedas, Upanishad texts, etc., and original texts on yoga practice.

Sri Aurobindo's teachings

Sri Aurobindo's father, Dr. Krishnadhan Ghosh, wanted him to pursue higher education and obtain a higher government position. For this reason, at the age of only 7, he sent Sri Aurobindo to England to study. At the age of 18, Sri Aurobindo passed the ICS examination. At the age of 18, he got admission in Cambridge. Aurobindo Ghosh was not only rich in spiritual nature but his high literary ability was in the style of his mother.

Along with this, he had proficiency in many languages like English, French, Greek, German and Italian. Even after passing all the exams, he failed in the horse riding test, due to which he did not get admission in the Indian Civil Service.

Spiritual thoughts

The Alipore bomb case was an important part of Sri Aurobindo's life. For a year he was kept in the cell of the Central Jail where he had a dream that God exhorted him to go on a divine mission. He received the teachings of Gita in prison and practiced continuously. He was acquitted early of his term.
After his release, he did many meditations and continued to practice them. In 1910, Sri Aurobindo left Calcutta and settled in Pondicherry. There he established an institute and built an ashram.
In 1914, Sri Aurobindo published a philosophical monthly called Arya. In the next 6 years, he did many important compositions. He had started the knowledge of many scriptures and Vedas in the jail itself. In 1926, Sri Aurobindo got absorbed in public life.
