What is the Indian Olympic Association called?
The Indian Olympic Association is the National Olympic Committee (IOA) of India. The task of the association is to select and manage the Indian contingents to represent India at the Olympic Games, Asian Games and other international multi-sport events. It also functions like the Commonwealth Games Federation of India, and also selects athletes to represent India in the Commonwealth Games.

India's position in Olympic Games: India first participated in the Olympics in 1900, with the only player to win two silver medals in athletics. The country first sent a team at the 1920 Summer Olympic Games and has participated in every Summer Games since then. India has also participated several times in the Winter Olympic Games since 1964. Till the start of 2016 Summer Olympics, India had 26 medals in its account, which were won in all Summer Games, India is yet to win a medal in Winter Games. The Indian national hockey team dominated the Olympics for a long time, from 1920 and 1980. In the 12 games held in the meanwhile, India won 11 medals, including 8 gold medals and 6 consecutive gold medals from 1928 to 1956.
