The C-295 transport military transport made for India has successfully completed its maiden flight. This is a significant breakthrough in the direction of delivery of this special aircraft by the second half of 2023. This maiden flight marks a significant milestone for the first Make in India aerospace programme. With the Indian Air Force becoming the largest operator of the C295 in the world, this program exemplifies our commitment to improve the operational capabilities of the Indian Air Force (IAF).

Airbus C 295 is a tactical transport aircraft manufactured by the French company Airbus Defense and Space and designed for the movement of military personnel and cargo.
Features of C-295 :-
The C-295 aircraft is designed for the movement of military personnel and cargo. It can be landed on any type of airstrip. This will help in the delivery of logistics and aid to hard-to-reach places. It has auto reverse capability. It is capable of turning 180 degrees on a narrow runway of 12 meters wide.
Government agreement for C-295
In September 2021, India signed a deal with Airbus Defense and Space to buy 56 C-295 aircraft worth about Rs 21,000 crore. These aircraft will replace the old Avro-748 aircraft of the Indian Air Force.
