Union Steel Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia virtually inaugurated the country's first green hydrogen plant at Jindal Stainless Limited, Hisar. Secretary, Ministry of Steel, Shri Nagendra Nath Sinha, Managing Director of Jindal Stainless Limited, Shri Abhyudaya Jindal, Founder of Hygen Co, Shri Amit Bansal and other officials of the Ministry of Steel were also present on the inauguration occasion.

About the project

It will be the world's first off-grid green hydrogen plant for the stainless steel industry and the world's first green hydrogen plant with roof-top and floating solar. The project is also a state-of-the-art green hydrogen facility, which aims to reduce carbon emissions by approximately 2,700 metric tons per year and 54,000 tons of CO2 emissions over the next two decades.
