He has also toured extensively in the United States and Britain. He has been the former Chairman of the Textbook Committee for Hindustani Music for the Directorate of Karnataka Textbooks. As a musician, Dr. Havildar has composed music for several dramas and television shows. He regularly conducts lectures and workshops on music for companies such as Wipro, Computer Associates, Birla 3M and Khodej, with topics such as Stress Management Through Music and Appreciation of Hindustani Classical Music.
