Sangeet Natak Akademi Fellowship and Academy Awards 2023

President Draupadi Murmu presented the Sangeet Natak Akademi Fellowships and Akademi Awards for the years 2019, 2020 and 2021 in New Delhi. Speaking on the occasion, he said that Indian art is also a classic example of India's soft power. Art and artists are the bearers of India's rich cultural heritage and unity in diversity is the biggest feature of the country's cultural tradition. Various forms of art transcend language and geographical boundaries.

At the ceremony, eight distinguished Sangeet Natak Akademi Fellowships in the field of arts were awarded. A total of 128 artistes from the fields of music, dance, theatre, traditional, folk and puppetry have been inducted from the Sangeet Natak Akademi.

YGSC received the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award for Best Actor and Performance Artist Ramakrishna for his performance in the theatre.

Five eminent artists from Odisha were honored with the Sangeet Natak Akademi Awards 2020 and 2021. Odissi dancer Ravindra Atibuddhi and Chhau dancer Trilochan Mohanta received the award for the year 2020. The 2021 Sangeet Natak Akademi Award for Open was given to Chakri Sushmita Das. Bijay Kumar Jena for Music, Dance and Bhatti Tetayak for Theater Direction. Special awards were also given to 86 artists on the occasion of completion of 75 years of India's independence.
