Chittaranjan Das (चित्तरंजन दास)

Chittaranjan Das was a prominent Indian leader, politician, lawyer, poet and journalist. Along with being an important nationalist leader, he was also a successful jurist. Chitranjan Das's elder brother Satya Ranjan passed matriculation from Emmanuel College and was in the Middle Temple during 1883–1886, and Chittaranjan Das also lived with his elder brother during 1890–1894. Living together he followed suit by Satish Ranjan Das (1891–1894), Jyotish Ranjan Das and Atul Prasad Sen (1892–1895). In London, he befriended Sri Aurobindo Ghosh, Atul Prasad Sen and Sarojini Naidu and together with others promoted Dadabhai Naoroji to the British Parliament.

He was the president of the Congress session held in Ahmedabad in 1921. He also formed the 'Swaraj Party'. He also presided over the 'All India Trade Union Congress' in Lahore in 1923 and Ahmedabad in 1924.
