Maharaj Shri Nagendra Singh was an Indian lawyer and administrator. He was one of the three judges of India who held the post of President of the International Court of Justice in The Hague. 18th Chief Justice of India R.K. s. Pathak and former Supreme Court judge Dalveer Bhandari are the other two persons who have held this post.

Nagendra Singh was born on 18 March 1914 in the Rajput Sisodia royal family of Dungarpur, Rajasthan (India). His father's name was Maharaja Shri Sir Bijaya Singh and mother's name was Maharani Devendra Kunwar Sahiba.
When he retired he continued to live in The Hague and died on 11 December 1988 in The Hague, Netherlands.
He joined the Indian Civil Service and served as Regional Commissioner for Eastern States, Member of the Constituent Assembly of India, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Defense of India, Director General of Transport and Special Secretary in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
Singh was Secretary to the President of India between 1966 and 1972, then Chief Election Commissioner of India from 1 October 1972 to 6 February 1973. In 1966, 1969 and 1975, he was appointed as the representative of India in the United Nations Legislative Assembly and served on the United Nations International Law Commission on a part-time basis from 1967 to 1972. He was also elected as International Secretary. bar Association. In 1973, he moved to The Hague to become a judge of the International Court of Justice and was its president from February 1985 to February 1988.
Dr. Nagendra Singh was given the Cama Award in 1938, and in 1973 he received the Padma Vibhushan from the Government of India.
