Rita Faria is an Indian model. She won the title of Miss World in the year 1966 and she has also joined the first Indian and Asian-origin female Miss World competition as a judge. She currently resides in Dublin, Ireland with her endocrinologist husband David Powellke.

Rita Faria was born in 1945 in Mumbai. His full name is Rita Faria Powell. His father's name was John and mother's name was Antoinette. He was born in a middle class family. His father used to work in the mineral water factory, while Rita's mother used to run saloon in the Marine line.

After her one-year stint as Miss World, she received several offers to act in films. Faria declined lucrative modeling and acting contracts, and instead focused on medical studies.
