History of zoology, importance and important facts related to animals

What is zoology called

Zoology is the branch of biology that deals with animals and their life, body, development and classification. In simple language, zoology is read about changes in the life of animals, changes in their bodies, changes in the relationship between their groups and changes in behavior and ecology. Zoology is also increasingly divided into disciplines such as taxonomy, physiology, biochemistry and evolution.

Importance of Zoology:

The study of zoology is of great importance to man. Various types of animals live around humans. He sees them and gets them to work according to his need. In which many animals have proved to be very useful for humans. Many animals are the food of man. We get milk from animals. Some animals provide wool, from which valuable woolen clothes are prepared. Very useful things like silk, honey, lac etc. are obtained from animals only. Most of the fields are plowed by animals. Bullocks, horses, mules and donkeys etc. do the work of transport. Some animals are also enemies of human beings and they harm humans, destroy crops, cause pain and sometimes even kill them. Therefore, the study of zoology is important to us.

History of Zoology:

The study of animals has been going on since ancient times. The evidence of this is the ancient caves whose stone walls have animal figures still found today. The Greek philosopher Aristotle wrote a book on animals 300 years before Christ. Galena was another Roman physician who in the second century described many of the characteristics of animals with great clarity. Many other writers of Greece and Rome have written books on natural science, in which animals are mentioned. Zoology was later forgotten for about a thousand years. In the 16th century, the attention of people was again attracted towards this science. At that time the teachers of medical schools got special attention towards it and they got engaged in its study. This science made special progress in the 17th and 18th centuries. After the invention of the microscope, its study became very widespread.
