ICC awards 2023 winners

The ICC Awards 2023, organized by the International Cricket Council, represents the pinnacle of recognition for international cricket players. These prestigious awards celebrate the extraordinary talent and achievements of cricketers from around the world. This year's ceremony saw several players honored for their exceptional performances across various formats of the game.

Australia's current captain Pat Cummins was elected the men's overall best player of 2023, while in the women's category this honor went to England's all-rounder Nat Shivers Brunt. While Virat Kohli was adjudged the best ODI cricketer, Suryakumar Yadav was adjudged the best T20 cricketer. The ICC also selected Surya as the captain of the best T20 team of 2023, while Rohit was selected as the captain of the best ODI team of 2023. Among the awards received by male and female players, no Pakistani player got any award, but they had a few players in the team.

A diverse group of cricketers were honored at the ICC Awards 2023 for their outstanding contributions to the game.

ICC Men's Cricketer of the Year
Australia captain Pat Cummins was declared the winner of the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for ICC Men's Cricketer of the Year 2023. The inspirational captain has produced stellar performances with bat and ball and won notable team accolades including ICC victories.

ICC Men's ODI Cricketer of the Year 2023
Veteran Indian batsman Virat Kohli was crowned ICC Men's ODI Cricketer of the Year 2023 for his exceptional year in the 50-over format. The player of the tournament at the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023, Virat Kohli was declared the ICC Men's ODI Cricketer of the Year 2023.

ICC Men's Test Cricketer of the Year 2023
Usman Khawaja was named as the ICC Men's Test Cricketer of the Year 2023. Khawaja fought off stiff competition from teammate Travis Head, India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin and England's Joe Root for the award after a successful year which culminated with Australia claiming their first ICC World Cup.

Rachael Hayhoe Flint Award for ICC Women's Cricketer of the Year 2023
England all-rounder Nate Sciver-Brunt won the award for the second consecutive year. 2023 was another notable year for Sciver-Brunt, with some of his standout innings coming during the home Ashes against Australia.

ICC Women's ODI Cricket of the Year 2023
The feat went to Chamari Athapaththu, who was already leading the Women's T20I and ODI teams of the year. Athapaththu was rewarded for his exceptional year with the bat in ODIs. Sri Lanka's top-order batsman made significant contributions with the bat and as captain, notably leading the team to its first bilateral series win over New Zealand.

ICC Men's Associate Cricketer of the Year 2023
Bas de Leede was named as the ICC Men's Associate Cricketer of the Year 2023 for his remarkable all-round performances in the year. He was a standout player for the Netherlands in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023 Qualifier and the World Cup in India.

ICC Women's Associate Cricketer of the Year 2023
Quintor Abel made Kenya proud by winning the ICC Women's Associate Cricketer of the Year for 2023. He took 30 T20I wickets at an average of 7.36, and scored 476 T20I runs at an average of 34.

ICC Men's T20I Cricketer of the Year 2023
For the second consecutive year, India's T20I player Suryakumar Yadav has been honored with the ICC Men's T20I Cricketer of the Year award. With his diverse mix of shots, Suryakumar dominated in 2023 with an average of 50 and a strike rate of over 150. The spine of India's middle order started throughout the year, making several match-winning contributions.

ICC Women's T20I Cricketer of the Year 2023
Hayley Matthews became the second West Indies player to win this honour. Former captain Stafanie Taylor was the last cricketer to win the award in 2015. Mathews added to his reputation with some sensational innings with the bat and his sharp work with the ball. His best performance came against Australia in Australia.

ICC Men's Emerging Cricketer of the Year 2023
Rachin Ravindra defeated South African fast bowler Gerald Coetzee, Sri Lankan fast bowler Dilshan Madushanka and Indian batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal for this award. He had an amazing ICC Men's Cricket World Cup in India where he scored 578 runs.

ICC Women's Emerging Cricketer of the Year 2023
For this, Litchfield left behind Marufa Ector of Bangladesh, Lauren Bell of England and Darcy Carter of Scotland.
