President Draupadi Murmu honored 19 exceptionally talented children with the Prime Minister's National Children's Award 2024 in New Delhi. The award winning children were selected from all regions of the country for their achievements in the fields of art and culture, bravery, innovation, social service and sports.

The award winners include nine boys and ten girls from 18 states and union territories, including two aspirational districts. President Murmu presented the Prime Minister National Child Awards-2024 in six categories - seven for art and culture, one for bravery, one for innovation, one for science and technology, four for social service and five for sports.

The President honored Master Avnish Tiwari of Madhya Pradesh with the Prime Minister's National Children's Award 2024 at the award ceremony. President Smt. Murmu presented medal, certificate and citation to Master Avneesh. 9 year old Master Avneesh of Indore has been given this award for excellence in social service. Master Avneesh is a special child affected by Downs Syndrome. At the age of 7, he successfully trekked to the base camp of Mount Everest. He was the youngest child to receive the Best Disabled Child Award in the year 2022.

About Prime Minister's National Children's Award

Prime Minister's National Children's Award (PMRBP) – awarded to children for exceptional abilities and outstanding achievements. These national level awards are given to children in the age group of 5 to 18 years for their excellence in seven categories such as bravery, art and culture, environment, innovation, science and technology, social service and sports. Each awardee of PMRBP is given a medal, certificate and a citation booklet.

Award:

The award consists of a medal, a cash prize, a citation and a certificate. Children who win Bal Shakti Puraskar also receive book vouchers, and participate in the Republic Day Parade. In addition, eligible children are also provided a specified reservation of central pool seats for medical education, allotted annually by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
