  • India's Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari has launched India's first diesel tractor, which has converted to a much cleaner (compressed natural gas) CNG variant. This will enable farmers to save more than ₹ 1 trillion annually on fuel costs, which will help them improve their livelihoods.
  • Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) is developing a state-of-the-art high altitude sudo satellite with a start-up company to strengthen the country's military strike capabilities. It is the first project of its kind in the world, where a manned aircraft will operate within range and unmanned aircraft will enter enemy range and can attack within enemy range.
  • The first Human Milk Bank (HMB) will be opened in the state of Kerala, India. Kerala health minister KK Selja will inaugurate it on 5 February 2021 at Ernakulam General Hospital. After the state health department signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Rotary Club of Cochin Global in 2020, it cost Rs 3.5 million. The Pediatrician Association (IAP) will also provide trained nursing staff to operate the milk bank.
  • Ford Motor Company has partnered with Google of Alphabet Inc to collaborate in software, artificial intelligence and cloud computing to develop new user services and modernize internal operations. The automaker will use Google Artificial Intelligence technology to improve the efficiency of vehicle development, supply chain and manufacturing operations.
  • Lucknow Metro has now become India's first metro service to sanitize metro coaches with ultraviolet rays. For this, Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) procured UV sanitization equipment from an Indian firm M / s FB TECH in Jaipur city of Rajasthan. The Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) has also taken the initiative to sanitize trains with UV lamp rages, inspired by the use of the New York Metro.
  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off eight trains connecting the Statue of Unity in Kevadia, Gujarat with various regions of the country through video conferencing. PM Modi said that this was the first time in history that many trains from different places were left for the same destination. Varanasi, the eight trains introduced, connect Kevadia to these cities: Dadar, Ahmedabad, Hazrat Nizamuddin, Rewa, Chennai, and Pratapnagar.
  • India's Union Minister of Defense, Rajnath Singh unveiled India's first 'driverless metro car' on 15 January 2021 during a ceremony held at the Bangalore Complex of Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEM) L. State-of-the-art driverless metro trains designed and developed indigenously for the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) are being constructed at the BEML Bengaluru manufacturing facility.
  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the inaugural session of the National Metrology Conclave through video conferencing on 04 January 2021. The National Metrology Conclave 2021 was organized by the National Physical Laboratory for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR-NPL), New Delhi to mark the 75th year of its establishment.
  • India successfully launched the weather monitoring cartosat-2 satellite. With this, 29 other satellites have been omitted. Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) successfully installed these satellites in the classroom with the PSLV C-40 launch vehicle.
  • BSES Rajdhani Power Limited (BRPL), in collaboration with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) -Pace-D and Indo-German Collaboration (GIZ), on 07 January 2017, India's first Solar to promote clean energy in residential buildings. The Rooftop Consumer Aggregation Program has started in Delhi. Under this program, solar panels will be installed in one place and the entire building will get solar energy.
  • India successfully tested the indigenously developed Advanced Air Defense (AAD) supersonic interceptor missile from a testing center in Odisha. This missile is capable of hitting any ballistic missile coming from a very low altitude.
  • Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has successfully ground tested India’s largest indigenously developed Cryogenic Upper Stage engine for GSLV Mark III.
  • Indian Space Research Organisation created history with the successful launch of a record 104 satellites by a single rocket - PSLV.
  • Ashok Leyland Ltd unveiled its Circuit Series electric bus. They are India’s first such indigenously made vehicle. The buses are designed and engineered in India. They are specifically developed for Indian road conditions.
  • Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport and Highways and Shipping, and Ravi Shankar Prasad, Minister of Electronics and Information Technology and Law and Justice, on 7 September 2016 jointly launched Integration of DigiLocker with Driving Licenses (DL) & Vehicle Registration Certificates (RC) in New Delhi.

  • Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu launched e-enabled application, Project Management & Information System (PMIS) at Rail Bhawan in New Delhi. The application will used for proper monitoring of all the Railway projects throughout the country.
  • China developed a new electronic paper, which has been heralded as “the world’s first graphene electronic paper.It will be a huge breakthrough that will catapult the material to a new level. It was developed by The Guangzhou OED Technologies in partnership with a company in Chongqing.
  • InFocus has forayed into home entertainment category by announcing launch of their LED TV series in India. InFocus manufactured LED television sets will be available from February 29 exclusively on Snapdeal
  • Unity Hyundai launched India’s first digital experience outlet at Unity One in Rohini, New Delhi. YK Koo, MD of Hyundai Motors India Ltd.(HMIL) inaugurated the outlet which is intended to break the general monotony of buying cars in the national capital.
  • A mobile phone-based alert system for pregnant women in rural areas was launched here to help them stay healthy till delivery. Called 'M-Health Service', the service requires the would-be mothers to register via a cellphone. Periodic text messages will convey to them necessary treatment details to take care of issues that crop up during pregnancy.
  • Domestic handset-maker Intex Technologies launched another smartphone Aqua Super at a price of Rs.10,390 in a further expansion of its series of 3GB RAM phones. The 4G-enabled phone comes with a 5-inch HD IPS display and is powered by a 1GHz Mediatek quad-core processor.
  • Chinese handset-maker Coolpad will invest over Rs.300 million in the country in manufacturing, research and development (R&D) and design as it launched a new smartphone -- Coolpad Note 3 -- priced at Rs.8,999.
  • Miami-headquartered affordable handset-maker BLU (Bold Like Us) has entered the India market with the launch of two Windows-based smartphones - BLU Win HD LTE and BLU Win JR LTE - priced at Rs.7,999 and Rs.5,999 respectively. The BLU Win HD LTE will come with a 5-inch HD display and a eight-megapixel rear camera.
  • Utility payments platform FreeCharge has launched a digital wallet in partnership with Mumbai-based private lender Yes Bank.Online e-commerce player Snapdeal had acquired FreeCharge in a deal believed to be worth around Rs.2,800 crore earlier this year.
  • Direct broadcast satellite television provider Tata Sky launched a new set-top box (STB) which will have recording ability and will come with a Wi-Fi dongle to enable consumers to enjoy recorded content on smartphones and tablets without consuming internet data.The announcement assumes significance as this is a first of its kind technology in India. 
  • Railway minister Suresh Prabhu, in an event in Kolkata, launched a smartphone based security application for Eastern Railways’ women suburban commuters. The app is named R-Mitra (Railway Mobile Instant Tracking Response and Assistance). General Manager of Eastern Railway, R K Gupta, said that this app has been designed as per the available technology implemented in Secunderabad and Mumbai
  • Domestic e-commerce platform Snapdeal has launched visual-algorithm based micro site findmystyle.in with the aim of enriching shopping experience online. 'The search methodology of findmystyle.in is very detailed and customised to a consumer's preference to help them discover a product of choice with ease while saving time and effort,' the company said.
  • Internet technology companyWay2online announced that it has launched Way2News, a free app that brings short summarized nuggets of news in local languages. Anticipating a huge demand for news consumption in local languages, Way2News is foraying into the large untapped segment of news readers who want to consume news in their native languages, the company said in a statement.
  • Suresh Prabhu, Union Railway Minister, launched a new mobile ticketing application that will help around 35 lakh daily commuters of suburban Western Railway. The application was launched by the minister from Delhi through video conferencing. As per a senior railway official, this paperless ticketing facility will be available at suburban system of Western Railway from Churchgate to Dahanu Road.
