History of Punjab: 1947 After the Partition of India, the Punjab province of British India was given a partition between India and Pakistan. In 1966, the Indian Punjab was partitioned again and as a result Haryana and Himachal Pradesh came under Hond and became the present state of Punjab. It is the only diocese in India where Sikhs are in majority.

Meaning of the word Punjab:The word 'Punjab' is derived from the Persian words 'panj' five and 'ab' water which literally means 'area of ​​five rivers'.
