World Poetry Day Brief
World Poetry Day is celebrated every year on 21st March across the world. UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) decided to observe this day every year on 21st March to honor the creative glory of poets and poetry. Sabad-World Poetry Festival is organized by the Ministry of Culture and Sahitya Akademi, Government of India on the occasion of World Poetry Day.
World Poetry Day History
It is Noteworthy that in the 30th session of UNESCO held in Paris in the year 1999, it was announced to celebrate '21 March' as 'World Poetry Day'.
World Poetry Day Objective
The purpose of celebrating this day is to promote creativity around the world along with writing, publishing-studying and teaching poetry. When UNESCO announced this day, it said that it has got a kind of recognition for the poetry movement at the regional, national and international levels.
