World Water Day is celebrated on 22 March every year. In the year 1993, this campaign was announced by the General Assembly of the United Nations to celebrate 22 March every year as World Water Day to increase awareness among the people about the importance, need and conservation of water.

World Water Day History

The initiative to celebrate World Water Day was taken in the program organized by the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development held in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil in 1992 and in 1993, the United Nations decided by its General Assembly to make this day an annual event. I decided to celebrate the purpose of this program was to tell the importance of water conservation among the people, the importance of clean potable water, etc.
