The history of the country of Cameroon is very interesting and connected to the world war. Cameroon became an independent republic on January 1, 1960, and gained membership of the United Nations on September 20, 1960. Before World War I, most of the country was under a German colony, at that time it was known as Cameroon.

At 475,442 square kilometers (183,569 sq mi), Cameroon is the 53rd largest country in the world. It is slightly larger than the nation of Sweden and the state of California; Cameroon is comparable in size to Papua New Guinea. The country is located in Central and West Africa, known as the Kaj of Africa, which is part of the Gulf of Boni, the Gulf of Guinea and part of the Atlantic Ocean. Cameron controls the ocean 12 miles of the Atlantic Ocean

Cameroon's per capita gross domestic product (purchasing power parity) was estimated as US $ 3,700 in 2017. Major export markets include the Netherlands, France, China, Belgium, Italy, Algeria and Malaysia. During the period 2004–2008, public debt decreased from 60% to 10% of GDP and official reserves exceeded US $ 4 billion with the Cameroon Bank of Central African States (of which it is the major economy), the border of Central Africa Is a part of the Charge and Economic Association (UDEAC) and the Organization for the Harmonization of Trade Law (OHADA) in Africa. Its currency is CFA Franc.

English and French are both official languages, although French is by far the most understood language (over 80%). German, the language of the original colonists, has long been displaced by French and English. The Cameroonian pidgin is the lingua franca in the pre-English territories. Since the mid-1970s a mixture of English, French, and Pidgins called camphangrolis has been gaining popularity in urban centers.
